Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna today said Jubo Dal will remain on the streets to resist any attempt to destabilize Bangladesh through planned conspiracies and acts of violence.

He said, Jubo Dal is working to build a prosperous Bangladesh with the people and its leaders and activists are prepared to resist any conspiracy against the country.

Munna made the remarks while addressing as the chief guest a brief rally and procession organized by Dhaka Mohanagar South Jubo Dal in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan in the capital this afternoon.

Jubo Dal General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan, MP, spoke as the special guest and other central and metropolitan leaders also addressed the rally.

Abdul Monayem Munna said, BNP won the election based on the verdict given by the people of Bangladesh through a free and fair election on February 12, and the people gave a mandate to BNP and its Chairman Tarique Rahman.

He said Tarique Rahman is currently serving as the Prime Minister of the people and the government is working for the people as well as for building a prosperous country.

BNP has long been working to establish the democratic rights of the people through movements and struggles. The present government is working for the people, and Jubo Dal is on the streets upholding that objective, he added.

The Jubo Dal president further said attempts are being made at different times to create instability in the country. If such activities result in the destruction of national assets, the government must strictly enforce the law within the legal framework, he said.

In his speech, Jubo Dal General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan, MP, said, Jubo Dal leaders and activists had been involved in movements and struggles on the streets for the past 17 years. Their objective was not to attain power, but to restore the democratic rights of the people, he said.

Jubo Dal leaders and activists had remained on the streets for a long time to establish people’s rights, independence, democracy and the rule of law, he said, adding that the presence of the organization’s leaders and activists at today’s rally proves that they are prepared to resist any conspiracy.

He urged the leaders and activists of every thana and unit of Dhaka Mohangar South Jubo Dal to remain alert against any kind of sabotage and disorder.

Earlier, leaders of Dhaka Mohanagar South Jubo Dal highlighted the organization’s role in the long-standing movements and struggles and called upon the leaders and activists to remain united.

Later, the leaders and activists brought out a huge procession from Nayapaltan, which ended at the National Press Club after parading different city streets.

Central and Mohanagar leaders of Jubo Dal as well as leaders and activists from different thanas and wards attended the rally.
