Kiara Advani Trolled for Intimate Scenes in ‘Toxic’, Swastika Mukherjee Gives a Fitting Reply

Ever since the release of the movie ‘Toxic’, there has been a massive uproar on the internet regarding Kiara Advani. After sharing the screen in some intimate scenes with South superstar Yash in the song ‘Tabaahi’, the Bollywood beauty is being heavily trolled on social media. Many netizens are questioning how she could do such scenes in front of the camera despite being a married woman and a mother. Stepping up to give a befitting reply to this unnecessary trolling is the outspoken Tollywood actress Swastika Mukherjee. Bashing the critics, Swastika shot a straight question—did Kiara sign a contract with the audience that she would only play Mother Teresa-like roles for the rest of her life? She harshly criticized the narrow mentality of judging an actress’s character solely based on intimate scenes without even watching the film or understanding the storyline. Regarding the taunts about motherhood, Swastika bluntly stated that children don’t fall from the sky; people become mothers because of intimacy between partners. She expressed deep frustration over the sheer hypocrisy of our society regarding such a normal aspect of life.
It wasn’t just Swastika; British actor and ‘Toxic’ co-star Benedict Garrett also spoke out against this dual behavior of the audience. He directly pointed out the blatant ‘double standard’ and hypocrisy of the netizens. Benedict raised a valid question—Yash is also married and has a wife and kids, so why is everyone applauding him and dropping fire emojis for the exact same scene, while Kiara has to bear all the nasty comments? He firmly reminded everyone that becoming a wife or a mother does not mean an actress’s career comes to an end. Romancing in front of the camera is a part of their profession and by no means reflects their personal lives. Ultimately, her colleagues have delivered a solid counter to the unjust criticism directed at Kiara.
Do you think this double-standard mentality of judging male and female stars differently on social media will ever disappear from our society?
