DHAKA — Dhallywood actress Eamin Haque Bobby has strongly dismissed recent rumors claiming she is married to an arrested businessman, stating that the “fake news” has taken a severe toll on her family and caused her mother to fall into poor health.

Speaking to the media at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) on Monday (June 22) afternoon, the Bizli star expressed her deep frustration over the baseless claims. The rumors surfaced after Gulshan Police recently arrested Mirza Abul Bashar, CEO of BTL Group, on fraud charges, with several reports subsequently and falsely labeling him as Bobby’s husband.

“I initially ignored these baseless and fake claims. However, my family lives abroad, and they were deeply hurt. They don’t always understand what is real news and what is fake. Seeing the news about this ‘so-called husband,’ my mother fell ill,” Bobby said.

She also criticized a section of media personnel for degrading the noble profession of journalism, noting that such actions are creating unnecessary complications within the film industry.

Clarifying her connection to the arrested individual, Bobby explained that Bashar was merely a partial producer for one of her films.

“I have no official relationship with his company; it was strictly a working relationship. Out of respect for an artist, they offered me a seat when I visited their office, and those photos are now being misused to spread false news,” she stated.

Challenging the rumor-mongers, the actress declared: “If anyone can prove that this man is my husband, I will give them whatever they want. I don’t understand why those spreading this fake news are using the word ‘husband’ instead of friend or boyfriend. They are probably using the ‘husband’ tag just to get more views.”

Urging the media to focus on an artist’s professional endeavors rather than spreading unnecessary rumors about their personal life, Bobby affirmed her commitment to remaining busy with acting and film-related work in the future.

Upcoming Association Elections
In addition to addressing the controversy, it was confirmed that the actress is contesting for the post of executive committee member from the Shiva-Joy panel in the upcoming film association elections.

Reflecting on her past involvement, Bobby noted that she had successfully won an election from the Shakib-Misha panel a decade ago. “That experience inspired my desire to work alongside the people of the film fraternity, which is why I am participating in the election again,” she added.

Background: Eamin Haque Bobby began her Dhallywood journey in 2010 with the film Khoj: The Search and came into the mainstream limelight with Dehorokkhi. Once a regular face in Bangladeshi cinema, she has delivered several commercially successful and critically discussed films, earning widespread popularity among audiences.
