Nine people died of dengue, and 1,954 were hospitalised after being infected with dengue fever in the last 24 hours till
8:00am today, according to a regular report of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With nine deaths in the past 24 hours, the death toll from the disease stood at 316 this year.
“Of the newly hospitalized dengue patients, 196 were hospitalised in Barishal division, 318 in Chattogram division, 465 in Dhaka division, 191 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 189 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 230 in Khulna division, 97 in Mymensingh division, 184 in Rajshahi division, 71 in Rangpur division and 13 Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
According to the report, a total of 103,336 dengue patients have so far been
hospitalized across the country this year.
The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.
Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
