Six more children die with measles symptoms

Six more children died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, beginning from 8am on Monday.

During the period, 1,074 suspected and 139 confirmed measles cases were reported, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Between March 15 and October 13, the country has recorded 104 deaths from confirmed measles and 1,064 from measles-like symptoms, totaling the toll at 1,170.

During the period, the country has recorded 230,083 measles cases — 207,371 suspected and 22,712 confirmed cases.

However, 176,672 patients were recovered and subsequently discharged from hospitals since March 15.
