Light to moderate rain and thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely in parts of Bangladesh, particularly in Chattogram division, as a trough of low pressure lies over the North Bay, according to the latest weather forecast.

A low-pressure area is likely to form over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas within the next 24 hours, potentially influencing weather conditions over parts of the country.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department’s 120-hour forecast, effective from 9:00 am on October 13, said rainfall is likely at a few places in the Chattogram division and at one or two places in the Khulna, Barishal and Sylhet divisions.

Elsewhere, the weather may remain mainly dry, with partly cloudy skies temporarily.

Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country during the forecast period.

The minimum temperature today was 19.3oC in Tetulia, while the maximum temperature on Monday was 36.1oC in Sandwip.

The sun sets in Dhaka at 5:35 pm on Tuesday, while sunrise on Wednesday is expected at 5:55 am.
