Bangladesh received US$9.366 billion in workers’ remittances during the July 2026-October 7 period of the current fiscal year, registering a 13.1 percent year-on-year growth, according to the latest Bangladesh Bank data.
The country received US$8.278 billion in remittances during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
The latest data showed that remittance inflow maintained a strong upward trend in October, with expatriate Bangladeshis sending US$774 million during October 1-7, compared with US$692 million in the same period of 2025, marking an 11.8 percent increase.
On October 7 alone, remittance inflow stood at US$129 million, according to the central bank data.
The sustained growth in remittance inflow is providing further support to the country’s foreign exchange reserves and external-sector stability, while strengthening the flow of foreign currency through formal banking channels.
