The government today rescheduled the holidays for Durga Puja 2026, declaring October 20-22 as holidays and keeping October 17, a Saturday, as an office day.<\/p>\n
As a result, government employees will enjoy a five-day holiday from October 20 to 24, including the weekly holidays on October 23 and 24.<\/p>\n
The government has also declared November 7 as a public holiday to observe the \u2018National Revolution and Solidarity Day\u2019.<\/p>\n
The decisions were taken at a Cabinet meeting held at the Cabinet Division conference room at the Secretariat with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in the chair.<\/p>\n
The meeting approved a proposal to reschedule the public and executive-order holidays announced on the occasion of Durga Puja 2026, said a Cabinet Division press release.<\/p>\n
Under the revised schedule, the Durga Puja holidays will be observed from October 20 to 22, while October 17 will be an office day.<\/p>\n
The Cabinet Division\u2019s circular on the observance of national and international days has included November 7 as a \u2018Category A\u2019 day for observance as the National Revolution and Solidarity Day.<\/p>\n
