The US Central Command (Centcom) said that an Iranian oil tanker, M\/T Kylo, sunk in the Gulf of Oman and “joined Iran\u2019s navy at the bottom of the sea”.<\/p>\n
“Thanks to the precision and professionalism of American service members, the M\/T Kylo sank in the Gulf of Oman today,” Centcom wrote on X, posting a video of a tanker ablaze and sinking.<\/p>\n
Centom earlier said its forces struck three Iranian crude oil carriers on Saturday in retaliation for ballistic missile attacks on its two US warships.<\/p>\n
Iran has strongly condemned the US attacks on its commercial vessels.<\/p>\n
The Embassy of Iran in India, in a post on X, shared the Iranian Foreign Ministry\u2019s condemnation of what Tehran described as US attacks on Iranian commercial shipping in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman.<\/p>\n
Iran called the US action \u201cillegal and irresponsible\u201d, describing it as part of what it termed continuing American military aggression, a naval blockade and economic warfare against Tehran.<\/p>\n
The Iranian Foreign Ministry said the attacks violated Article 2(4) of the UN Charter and amounted to a war crime and a threat to international peace, security and maritime trade.<\/p>\n
